The debate as of late seems to be three- vs. four-fletched arrows. As archery evolves and technology improves, arrow configurations constantly change. Remember back when Bear Razorheads and Thunderheads were the only broadheads and four- and five-inch vanes were the status quo in compound bowhunting rigs? Shortly into the new millennium, out of nowhere there were short profile Bohning Blazer broadhead vanes and broadhead profiles were engineered to be shorter and more compact. Perfect arrow flight was achieved and long vanes steering massive fixed broadheads became a thing of the past.
