Coming from a long line of hunters, the love of our sport has come easy. By the time I was a teen the yearning to chase critters all but engulfed my every thought. When the time came to go to college, I chose to major in marine biology. With only a few schools that even offered such a major, my choices were minimal. The schools that did major on the subject were all not located in what I would consider to be prime hunting areas. That was until I learned of the plentiful game on the islands of Hawaii. Since I knew that it is one of the leading schools in marine biology and that there was game to hunt, my mind was set. I was going to hunt…I mean go to school in Hawaii. That was fifteen years ago. Now back home on the mainland, I miss the year-round hunting these beautiful islands have to offer. Though I love stalking mulies in velvet and chasing bugling bulls in September, I really start missing hunting in Hawaii when our seasons have closed.
