Is thier some way to keep bugs from getting on your meat while in game bags while you pack out? i have been told to spray with citric acid..... I will be packing in a couple of miles and dont want to lose the meat

That is what the game bags are for. I have never had trouble with the Allen/Remington game bags. Citric acid discourages flies from getting to the meat, but it is more for preventing bacteria from getting to it. I think it gives you a little extra time, but I just use the bags and head for the truck as soon as I can. Good game bags provide for a good physical barier, while allowing it to breath and cool.
