Shoot The Backcountry-Annual 3D summer archery shoot taking place in southern Utah at Brian Head Resort July 27-28, 2012. This is a fun shoot where participants will shoot realistic uphill/downhill angles with up to 40 3D targets throughout the course. Guest speaker Marc Smith(see video) will be giving a seminar on "Bowhunting mule deer and elk in the back country" and also be giving away prizes from thousands of dollars worth of prizes, hunts, gear, and cash including binoculars from Vortex Optics, mule deer head mount from Wildlife Taxidermy, Nevada guided lion hunt from Deep Creek Outfitters, signed books from Cameron Hanes & Eastmans, and much, much more! Also, as side contest, two-man teams will compete for a hunting trip to South Africa! Our goal was $5000 in cash, gear, & hunts to give away. We have more than doubled that amount already with well over $10,000 in cash, gear, hunts, & prizes! You won't want to miss out on this shoot! Here's a link with a good list of hotels in Cedar City, UT which is about 30 minutes from the shoot. Should save you some $$ compared to staying at the resort. Hope this helps. Cedar City is the closest, major city from the shoot.

Is this the first year of this shoot?
How will it compair to Bowcast at the Bird?

Yes. First annual shoot. Very similar as far as uphill/downhill realistic angles, hiking, etc. There will not be a ski lift ride but shooters will take off from the lodge and head into the back country to shoot courses.

No Sunday ???
Plus the week right after BATB.
I would like to make it down. But with no Sunday shoot it may be a little difficult for me.
