Where is the place to hunt trophy Roosevelt Elk, either DIY or reasonably with an outfitter? Let's say under $8k.

Wow....now that is a TOUGH one, and I live in the heart of Roosevelt elk country!! If you are talking about a high success, slam dunk hunt, for say a 280+ bull, I think it is gonna probably cost a heck of a lot more then $8K. Here are a few ideas:

1. Vancouver BC - The very best but very expensive.

2. Contact Big K Ranch in Elkton Oregon

3. Contact Ken Wilson, Spoon Creek Outfitters in Oregon, he hunts some public land, limited entry areas.

4. Buy a statewide Oregon elk tag at auction, take a tax deduction, and hire an outfitter like Ken Wilson. Spendy but would be hard to beat.
