I thought it would be interesting to see what weapon everyone would use if you were one of the lucky hunters that won the Eastmans' elk or deer hunt. I would probably take my bow and try to seal the deal with it, but I would probably also take a rifle just because it is a once in a lifetime hunt. What would you do?

Elk hunt is an elk hunt. I'd use my muzzleloader like I do now.

If it was an elk hunt, my custom .300 Wby. if deer or antelope, my Ruger 25-06. I shoot both very well and they do the job.

Bow with a back up weapon being a spear. That would get some views huh?

Thats funny you mention a spear. There was some proposed legislation here in MT for there to be a spear season. I am not sure where that stands now, but I thought it was just a reason for someone to go out and act like an idiot. Sorry if anyone hunts with a spear, I don't mean to insult you personally!:D

I would use my Browing A-bolt with Leupold VX-7 shooting 168gr Bergers or 160 gr accubonds.

The funny part is that if you do get a 200" buck with a spear someone would still claim "with enough money i could do it too".
Or, "the spears now a days make it easy"

Probably my Rem. 700 CDL in .264 win mag. It would have to do for elk because it's the biggest caliber I own.

I watched one this morning that a guy won. It was an elk hunt in Colorado. He had a shot at 400yds, and they wouldn't let him take the shot. They came back the next day, and shot a nice bull at 44 yds. Sure didn't need a rifle for that one. Muzzleloader, or a good bow would have been fine.

Bow and bow only. It would be hard not to get into bow range on those units.

Sauer 202 in 9.3x62 or Blaser k95 in 30-06. If distances were long, my custom built 375 Ruger with VLD bullets.

I'd use the Remington .270 that I've hunted with since the early 1970's. It's taken several elk and deer, no reason to think it won't continue to do so.
