We have shooting on a cull permit here in New South Wales with the 204. Works well on our big english foxes, and ok on kangaroos if you neck or brain them.

I haven't shot much with the 22-250, what bullets do you use to keep from tearing up a coyote?

I just want the coyotes gone so mostly I use 55gr 243wssm, also 52 gr Amax fron 22-250. 22-250 doesn't have the range of 243wssm. Neighbor took a coyote chasing three does with his 7mm 150gr and his grandson killed a coyote chasing two does. I only know of two coyotes left around my place and they have been to school. I know I have missed both on at least one ocassion. I need a new trick. That is one reason I am using the longe range predator gun, the 243wssm. BTW if I see one from my house he will get the 7mm 168 Berger, even more range.

130 grain Barnes ttsx out of my .270 seems to do the trick. I also like a gold tip 5575 tipped with a G5 Montek.

95gr. v-max out of my .264 DPMS. It will do half of the skinning for you though, and it doesn't do a very pretty job.

For coyotes I use a 35 grain bullet in my .204 :) it's also super fun to shoot prairie dogs with.. Flips them up into the air.

My favorite round for calling and not wrecking a bobcat if I see one is the 204 with the 45gr Hornady. It will exit a yote from most any angle, but won't blow up like a V-max or ballistic tip so the hide is salvagable. Kinda acts like a mini Partition in my experience.

My favorite out of the feed truck, or for a place that will be yotes only is my 6mm Rem with 70gr ballistic tips over a max load of Superformance at 3824fps. It lets me shoot quickly without worrying about range out to 350yds and flat stomps yotes. Not a load for fox or cats, but a yote has enough mass to keep the bullet from exiting almost every time. Another I've had alot of sucess with is the 75gr V-max from a short barrelled 243 win, works like the 6mm load.

I use 22-250 for coyotes. I just buy the winchester hollowpoint bullets off the walmart shelf, those bullets didn't blow the dog apart, just a nice little entrance hole and perfect pelt

22-250 with 55gr Hornady Vmax is my first choice for yotes!

.220 Ackley Swift @ 4100 fps. Does a number on them...or my .257 Wby Mag @4000. Don't really care about the pelts! The bigger hole, the better...

.243 55 grain ballistic tip. for coyotes (pelts not worth much down here, so I don't care about damage!). Typically don't shoot bobcats, I trap them.

My two favorite rounds for predators are the 55grn vmax out of my 22-250 and 58grn vmax out of my .243.

When I use the 22-250, its 52 gr Amax at a little over 3700, still my best round is 243wssm 55gr balistic tip. I must be the only one using Amax on dogs.

For close to medium range I use a 223 with a 50 grain Nosler Ballistic tip goining at about 3200 fps, and for long range I like my 243 with 100 grain Nosler BT soft points. I get them flying at about 3,100 fps

Got my depredation permit coming and really enjoyed talking with the G&F guy. I got 120 days with renewal and I told him about my gear. He said most people that get a permit never get a kill. I plan to hunt until coyotes are gone, he did tell me that dogs do about as much damage as the coyotes. Dogs are a never ending problem, well some are ended. If my permit is in todays mail I will be hunting tonight. Infra red and night vision don't spook them and red light on quickly will give time for a quick shot. Only problem with permit is hunting on my land only.
