A buddy called DFG and they said results will be posted by the end of this week! I hope they are right.

From DFG's site"Successful Deer applicants will be mailed tags beginning June 18. Unsuccessful Deer applicants may claim leftover tags beginning June 16 on this site or at any license agent location or DFW sales office." The 16th is Sunday.... so if left over tags are available for purchase, the draw has to happen before sunday.

Better use your points. The way things are going, there will be nothing to wait for.

I wanted to this year but my wife planned a vacation in the middle of archery season which would leave me 4 days to hunt. Awesome planning on her part;)

Same here for a few long shots with sheep, elk and pronghorn, but I'm hoping on a desert deer tag for my second choice....but if I don't draw that, the third is for sure.

I've never hunted X-10. I'll be hunting the Arizona California border way south of X-10. The burro muledeer. Some toads are taken from that zone every year! With a little scouting and luck hopefully our group can find a few.

My bad, it's Sawfish that I'm thinking of...don't know why I confused you with him :).

Happy hunting, though. Never been down that way, but I imagine that is some rugged country.

Only drew my third choice this year D-14, but I also have a B one tag. The way things are shaping up with the state legislature, looks like we are on the skids so far as hunting goes in this state. I am going all in next year, and spending my available points for all species. Then I will concentrate on Texas. No drawing. No points. OTC tags for resident and nonresident alike. Gun and hunting friendly state, and lots of deer.

The lowest point value it went to last year was 2, highest was 8. He got lucky! only 315 tags for that zone. Muzzleloader tag for that zone is one of the best in the state.

I just got more points on everything across the board again and a deer tag that I can't use very well in C zone due to the hunting lease falling through. No happy surprises here on my end. Oh well, I'll still be out hunting another OTC choice here in California and or I also enjoy hitting new wilderness every year just for fun to see something new.

On the plus side, this year hunting Deer and Elk in Idaho in October. I only budget a hunt out of state every other year and this is my out of state hunt year. The location has moved a few times but we are settled on a choice as of this week. I confirmed the tags and it's nice having something set to go to.

I understand he is a real good hunting partner. Does all of the scouting, field dresses the deer and packs it out, brings the food, and pays for the gas! You guys really did luck out! But, wait! I think he drew D-14-right?

I drew one of 15 Northeastern General bull tags here in CA.

The dates are awesome from 9/18 - 9/29. I think I can get one scouting trip in August and also 5 days of scouting before season starts.

Partly true the Saw, Don't pay for all of gas or food. Sierra Intruder did all my scouting for X12 last year. Only helped cut up and pack out his deer. I was his mule. I only cut up and pack out for old guys. Yeah, it's be D12 not D14. Oh, I don't mind cooking either. It's a bachelor thing you know...

What did I miss? Did you pull X12 last year for deer? If so, a belated congrats from me on getting that tag. How did I miss that post? How did you do on the hunt Don? Did you hunt rifle or bow? It's so much harder to get that tag now days. I may have to go to a more primitive weapon for better odds...... :(

Hey Kevin !
I posted last year I drew it and think I wrote a little story about it. my two friends killed bucks. One a 24 in. 4x4 w/eyegaurds. other a 3x4. I hunted with rifle. First trip a say a couple forkies and last evening took a 630 yd shot...at a nice 4x4 that stopped coming down the mtn. near dark thirty. shot high twice. The second trip the last 4 days of season we hunted. That's when the two bucks were taken. passed on forky. Jumped a wide 3x3 w/eyegaurds but couldn't get a shot. Next day spotted him laying down at 583 yds. Looking at me. Hit rock in front of his chest twice. He got up and shot high. Maybe the ending is in the Calif. forum or X12 ? Sawfish said the cut the tags from 860 to 680 this year.

Drew my Xzone tag but struck out on elk, antelope and sheep. Hopefully this will be the year. I have pulled the tag twice in the past but have eaten a tag both times.(have only seen small bucks) We are going to try a new area this year so we shall see. Good luck to all this season!

Yea, I was just up there a couple weeks back poking around and backpacking in the higher country above the Leavitt Meadows pack station, several miles in. I was going to check out the Bodie Hills some too to see what was down lower but did not have much time. I think I must have been gone and missed that thread. Typically seeing X12 I would have looked at at least for the memories and to cheer you on...

860 down to 680 makes the odds go down so much more. Unless I try with a more primitive weapon for better odds it's just that many more years before getting drawn. I have a friend that's fed up with waiting that long. He is at 5 points now and waiting and I think he may just not put in for there again after he draws.

Good for you packer58. I hope you kill some critters with those tags. Makes me want to switch to a more primitave weapon to get a better odds on these limited entry units. It's getting hard to hike them and not be able to hunt them other than hunt the preditors were allowed to hunt still.
