My wife loves Cutco knives for the kitchen, and when it comes to the kitchen she gets what she wants because it benefits everyone! So anyway, she bought me one of their hunting knives for our anniversary, it seems like a nice knife overall but the salesman talked her into a fully serrated blade saying it will stay sharper longer.

Anybody used one before? Pros? Cons?

Trying to decide if I should send it back for a standard blade or not.

I have a Cutco hunting knife, but it is the standard blade and I love it. Stays sharp for a long time, it could easily do a few elk/deer before it would need resharpened. I processed an entire cow elk with mine, along with 2 toms, handful of pheasants and occasionally in the kitchen and it is still very sharp. Standard blade is holding its edge very nicely.

Yeah I've been pretty dang impressed with the kitchen ones we have. I also have the pocket knife, it's decent overall...blade is good, the rest of it could be built a little better in my opinion.

My gut tells me to send this one back for the standard blade, something tells me it'll be better overall...I hate to miss the boat though if this serrated thing is the bees knees and I just don't realize it yet! Ha

funny my wife just bought the whole kitchen set also. I wouldn't bite on any of the hunting knives. next time you get an animal close to home, take one of the steak knives from the kitchen and go skin with it(don't wash the hair off, just put on the ledge of the kitchen sink and say nothing).
