DIY unit 36 NM

I drew the second season Unit 36 New Mexico archery elk hunt. Looking for some help on areas that might be good. I have a friend that hunted this area before, but its been a few years. So any help regarding the area is much appreciated.

Joe,

I have the same hunt. I spent the last few days in the unit and did not see any elk. I did see a lot of sign so they are there. At one point I got up to 7550 feet and the temperature was 95. All water holes that I went to were still dry. The unit is getting some good rain but it will take a little more to fill the holes.

There are two really great spots and one OK spot. I would be more than happy to fill you in.

You must be in shape for the two great spots.
