2011 Elk Hunting Success!

Well, after the season ended our family ended up getting three bull elk! My son (his first archery tag, he's 12) got his first bull on opening evening. It was a small 4 point but excellent either way. My husband got his bull on the 20th, a really nice 6 point that grosses about 285 and I got my bull elk on the 23rd. Nothing to brag about on size but it was a fun week of hunting and being in the bulls almost every day. A good friend of ours also shot a bull on labor day weekend. He was a good one and grosses around 345!

I would still brag if I was you. It is bigger than the bull I killed this year (nothing). Great pic. Congrats!

That is really cool your 12 year old killed an archery elk! One of my boys killed his first archery bull at 12 and I don't think I have heard of another since until now. Congrats on a great elk season.
