Hoyt Carbon Element

Anyone shooting the Carbon Element? I've got a Z7 now that I love, but the light weight and reviews I've read on the Element make me want to try one.

I haven't shot it myself, however, heard great things. Just bought a new Z7 about a month ago and I'm loving it thus far. And, I know that if I go and shoot it and like it more than the Z7, my wife might not be very happy with me.

I understand that! My wife doesn't understand my need to constantly test and tweak my gear. I've just started shooting 3D and indoor leagues and I've found it's addictive. After only my 3rd 3D tournament in my life I'm thinking I need a target setup.

Maybe I could tell her I need a backup bow.

My hunting partner has one that should be arriving soon. He is a good quality control test for bows. He drove and ATV over his Hoyt Protec twice (still shoots) and crushed his new Hoyt Maxxis under his pickup this fall. Hopefully the carbon element will stand up to it. I'll let you know how it shoots when get gets it.

I don't think I would let your hunting partner mess with your gear!

We raffled off a Hoyt Maxxis 31 at our RMEF banquet a few weeks ago. I wasn't able to shoot it, but was able to draw it back and get a feel for it. It was a 60 lbs bow and the pull was considerably harder than my Z7 at 70 lbs. It may have just been that bow, but I would have a hard time pulling back one of those at 70 lbs for an entire tournament or shooting session.

I just bought a z7 extreme about a month ago.It came down to the z7 and the carbon element both shot very well and the element is lighter but not worth the $350 more in price in my opinion.

I have been shooting an Element for about a month now. It is the best bow I have ever shot by far. I wasn't going to get a new bow this year since I had got a new Maxxis last year but as soon as I shot the Element I ordered one. Super light, awesome feel/balance, deadly quiet, good speed, everything you could want in a hunting bow. If you can get your hands on one, definetely give it a few shots. The draw cycle is much better on the new fuel cams versus last year's XTR's on the Maxxis.

I am 6'2 with a 29 inch draw, I like the longer bows and have been shooting the Matrix for two years, shooting the Matrix Plus now. It is the lightest, most indistructable bow I've ever shot... simply Bad A$$!!! I just did a review at the Hoyt web site under Feature Article.

Carbon Element or Matrix Plus... You will never regret either!

If I had more money I would own one of all the above. Lottery here I come!

I'm Loving my Element! It's a dream to draw, shoot, and carry. Lightweight, smooth, and quick! Tuned up easily and aims really well too. I have a Matrix also and it was a great hunting bow for me last season.
