Utah Cow Moose Permit

Hello Utah,

I would love to harvest a cow moose but never wanted to give up my points in MT to do so. A couple of years ago I started buying points for moose in Utah, I have 2 now and will be purchasing my 3rd. This year in reviewing statistics I noticed you have to have 10 pts to have under a 1% chance to draw a bull permit.

My question... How tough is it to obtain a cow permit and how many pts do you have to have to start getting a 10% chance or so?

They really reduced the amount of cow tags last year so the odds went up quite a bit. Even tougher for a non- res. They started doing pnts for antlerless 5 (?) years ago so 5 (?) is the max you could have for a cow.
