Back up Pistol

Does everybody carry one while there bow hunting? If so what do you carry? Obviously only if the regs allow you to carry. Thx

I carry a 9mm. If I'm hunting bow, rifle,scoutting, camping I always have it with me.

Of the western states, i'm not sure if any of them allow the you to carry a firearm on your person during archery season. I know here in the comunist state of California it is not legal to carry any type of firearm during bow season, Nevada has basically the same rules.

It will be interesting to see what other states allow you to carry during bow season........good topic labman.

I carry a springfield 45 xd

It's legal here in Wyoming and I carry a .41 :) love it!

Legal in Utah, as long as you have a concealed permit. I only carry when I am an area with lots of bears, and carry a Taurus Judge, two 45 Long Colts, and 3 410 defense loads.

45 Long Colt for me. Didn't carry one until I got my butt handed to me by two cats two seasons ago. I should add "carry" for me means fully accessible. It Ain't gonna do a bit of good stuffed in your pack when you need it.

I would be curious of those that do carry - how many times have you actually pulled the trigger while bowhunting?

I have only encountered black bear...don't think I'll ever carry...except maybe in grizzly country.

ya in the same boat with you packer58 but i think alot of ppl do carry while bow hunting here in california not so much for predators i think its more for running into illegal marijuana grows and all that stuff since its such a big deal in CA especially during the bow seasons when its peak harvest and theres alot of activity but i wonder how it would work if you have ccw and carrying during bow season but anyways just my thoughts

I asked a game warden that same question. He said it is still illegal if you have a ccw. You can't carry any firearm with you during archery season if you also are carrying a bow in the field. (CA)
