The CO Div of Wildlife has loads of stats on their site, which is the best state game and fish site in the western states. Just look up the harvest statistics for 2011 to get an idea of deer and elk numbers.Quote:

I know several nice people in Leadville, but I believe there are "cleaner areas" nearby. Had a cousin live there several years and he definately got tired of winter up there.
I know nice people there too. They want to come to BV, but can't sell their home. They also bring their kids to school in BV.
I could live in Leadville easily, and I came close to doing it once, but I don't have a family to worry about. Just me and the dog.
My little paradise in unit 81 is for sale, could be turn key, complete with snowmobiles. Its 25ft to the national forest and good hunting. Alamosa is our shopping center and health center, only 47 miles. Chama is about 25 miles.
Health reasons
That sounds nice xtreme, that's my plan in about 25 more years. Hopefully Im still mountain able by the time I can afford it. Old Hunter- I would also pick BV or Salida over Leadville.
