sportsmans ethics?
i whent with my buddy on a speeg goat hunt yesterday, took wheelers back to an isolated alphalfa field where weve seen lots of lopes while scouting for elk.we set up a blind whent the extra mile to make it look like part of the landscape and pulled out the glasses and waited. not an hour later a guy pulls in and sets up 50 yards down from us in a totaly wrong blind. within the next hour there were 5 blinds set up within 200 yards from us. WTH? ive never been on a goat hunt before but is this normal? we watched a small herd working their way to the filed and when they got with in 100 yards they spoted all these blinds that were out of place and turned back. i would never set up close to where someone is set up. thats just wrong. any thoughts on this? agree, not agree? it was unerving.

Sure sounds messed up to me.....

So not cool! I have had thing similar to me as well and it just pisses me off! The way I see if first come first serve. If your there first everyone else should go find somewhere else to hunt. If I'm going to my spot and another guy is there before me I wil go find a new place and leave him alone and not screw up his hunt. It's the way it should be.

im glad im not alone on this. i was confused as much as i was pissed. did they think with all these hunters and blinds the antelope would walk right past.....

Never had this exact situation, but had similiar things happen when I was waterfowl hunting on public land. Get there way before daylight (sometimes even the night before) and setup and have some aholes come in and set up within 50 yards of our decoys! Almost had a fistfight several times. All we did was to make a lot of disturbances and movement when any birds started to work, they usually got the message and moved. Lots of people (won't call them hunters!) just don't think and really don't care.

I belive in the first come, first serve too.

First come first serve. I always honor someones space and go to plan B if needed. In Ohio you can run into problems of having someone using your stand if on public ground. Even had people argue about it. Glad I only have one of those.
-
Definitely first come, first serve! If I see someone with a blind set up I try to get as far away from it as possible. I would have been pissed as well.

It sounds like combat fishing is leaking over into hunting in your case. I hate it when people do that!

There's some big time well know bowhunters here in Colorado that think that because they've hunted a spot before that that spot belongs to them, public land no less.
