Results of the 2011 big game draw will be available by May 31.
Any limited-entry permits that aren't taken in the draw will be available—on a first-come, first-served basis—starting July 19.
Permits to hunt during the state's general bull elk hunt will also be available on a first-come, first-served basis starting July 27.
Also, any general deer permits that aren't taken in the big game draw will also be available—first-come, first-serve starting July 27.
You can apply for a doe deer, cow elk or doe pronghorn permit starting June 1. Notice, there will be no permits issued for the cow moose in 2011. Results of the 2011 antlerless draw will be available by July 14.
Yeah I noticed that there were no moose permits. What's going on with that?
Thanks for the info Sharpstick
Talked with the conservation officer a few days ago, and there are so many moose being poached through the year that they probably are not going to give out any cow moose tags (for the Kamas unit any way) He said that there are 10 to 17 moose poached every year in the kamas unit, and they only give out 5 bull tags to begin with
I wrote up my opinions about the Utah deer changes on my blog. Read it and let me know what you guys think, if you agree or disagree. Im curious how other fellow Utahns feel about this change. My link is below.
That makes me furious to hear that about the poachers. They are taking opportunities away from the legal and ethical hunters
