Do you know if a nonresident can buy a wolf tag over the counter, or do we have to buy ahead of time?
Thanks, BB, you really seem to know your state well. I will be bringing bear spray/ side arm for sure. I normally do backpack hunts, so I will definitely be getting off the main drags once we get a...
So a couple of guys and myself are heading out with mules to Montana! It's been a few years, but I shot my first elk out there just north of Yellowstone (like I say, it's been a few years), and I am...
Awesome looking deer... Is there a story to go with it?
i'll be north of steamboat starting friday for 8 days. the weather forecast is still above normal for all of next week. i was out there last year for opener and they were already starting to rut. ...
i agree with all above. build up points for the future, then hunt otc in the meantime. if you go to the most remote places in colorado otc units, you still won't see many other hunters. sure the...
Is there anyone out in northern Colorado or southern Wyoming that can update on the summer weather? How has the precipitation been? Has it been warm, cool, etc.? How have the elk herds done after...
I've got chills...only two months to go!!!!
points only for elk and deer, but that's alright. i'll still be there in September with a bow for wilderness OTC elk.
last year in northern CO, i was in pracitcally a blizzard at 10k + ft on August 30. Sleet, hail, snow, 50 mph winds, and cold. it was well worth it, though. the elk went crazy the next day.
definitely enjoy the mule trips too, but i am enjoying more and more going in on foot completely solo. i love the challenge of enduring a blizzard in late august to reap the rewards of the animals...
you're a lucky guy to get paid to do that.
crimson arrow, i also am a residential contractor in the twin cities (south metro) what is the name of your company?
with a good story and awesome pix like that, you should send in to get in the magazine
walleyed-- we've got it pretty good here, phenomenal fishing, good whitetails, and can always go out west when we need to. i do like the alaska plan, though
i apparently have a solution--i have to put her and our three kids with her sister and her two kids up in a water park resort at the wisconsin dells for a week. i think hawaii would be cheaper. ...
right on, full draw, i die of anticipation for about two weeks before the next one comes in, especially in the winter when i'm not outdoors.
i vote for Nate. he seems to be a multi-talented guy. i'm sure he would do well.
All good advice, guys. My wife said she would be open to staying at some kind of indoor waterpark hotel near where I'm hunting. Does anyone know of decent place near Montrose?
Just wondering if anyone can give me some advice. I hunt out west basically one week per year. This year i'm going to CO for either muzzleloader (if I draw) or OTC archery elk in the wilderness for...
i have the Katadyn and love it. with the amount of water that you drink when hiking miles every day, it is nice to have water that tastes good and doesn't have any floaties.
that is for no points, right? looks like it would take a while for the henries, but book cliffs and wasatch in what?... maybe 3 to 5 years?
i'm starting points for elk and mulies this year in UT. anybody know how many it will take for archery elk in wasatch or archery mulies in the book cliffs or henries?
i enjoy all of their high country archery mule deer hunts. it seems like eastman's is the only crew that can pull it off. another good book is mike eastman's "hunting high country mule deer". i...
i hunted in BC for 5 days. saw stone's sheep (one at 50 yards), many 6 x 6 elk, a herd of mountain caribou, many legal bull moose (they came into camp to eat the horses hay), large grizzlies at...
