I ordered the Zeiss. It seemed brighter and clearer than the other 2 for that price range. Thanks everyone for all the input.

I would grab an elk tag otc archery or 2nd, 3rd season and do some deer scouting. Put in for some top deer units and get a point or a great hunt. Look at the MRS.
I'm leaning toward the Vortex because it is affordable and I may upgrade my other scopes to Vortex. I can afford the Zeiss Conquest until they are gone then I probably wouldn't consider Zeiss because...
Originally I was going to buy a Vortex but the local optics dealer was pushing the Leupold saying "others have tried Vortex but end up going back to Leupold". Then I found a good price on the Zeiss...
Park ranger/firefighter, busy time is Spring and Summer. Lots of vacation time and comp time for hunting.
Well I bought the gun, a Browning X-Bolt 270WSM. Now it is time to buy a scope. My other 2 rifles have a 20 year old 3-9 compact Leupold and a 3-9 Nikon BDC so I've never owned a good scope. I am...
Your right, you can only buy 1 point a year. Each species is a different cost. Sheep points are $100.00 There are no max to points, they go up every year. They started points for deer, antelope, and...
If you draw this year they will refund that money to you.
No monsters but some decent bucks.
We only had 4 days to fill 3 tags. I wish we would have had 10 days or so. It is a huge unit and I feel we barely scratched the surface.
You get five choices in NV. Start with a late rifle as your first pick and work your way to archery as a 4th/ 5th pick. I drew a late season rifle hunt in the Rubies with 10 points and a late rifle...
Thanks for all the input guys. I will be buying the 270wsm, not that I need it but it will be a good addition to what I already have.
I was trying to say that I don't think I will hit the 1500 round mark for quite some time. Obviously the more you shoot the better shot you become.
This gun won't be used a lot for recreational shooting. I would be surprised if I shot 2-3 boxes a year with it. It will be mainly used for deer/antelope hunts.
Thanks guys for the info. I think I am going with the 270wsm because I want to be able to get ammo easily.
No tag. Couldn't stomach the $1000 to get a general and save my points in the special draw
Looking to buy a new rifle soon in 270WSM or 7mmWSM but heard the 7mmWSM is on its way out. I am not a reloader or keep up with all the different calibers. I want a gun where it is easy to find ammo...
134 in K looks like it has good access on the map. I was considering going to check it out this year.
How was your hunt in 102? I was thinking about archery elk hunting that area this year and looking at 98, 93, 89 and 90 for goats in the future.
I changed careers at age 37 and thought of being a game warden. The problem is their busy season is hunting season. The same would hold true as a guide. These professions are good if you don't want...
Last year they recommended increasing tags and they decreased them. This year they go crazy and double to triple tags in most units. Seems like a weird philosophy. However I drew a late season unit 6...
If I am paying $300-500 for a tag, something is getting a ride in the back of the truck.
I'm not sure I am following this right but if your return card numbers are off than that means you drew a tag. I have 1 return card but 2 records found. So I drew something?
They told me in an email they have more problems with California subscribers and I should talk to my local post office. I do not have this issue with any other magazines, so I think it is somewhere...
Has anyone received the April EHJ? I know I shouldn't have to ask but since I have not received the last 2 EBJ without calling I figured I would start here. What good is an MRS for Nevada if you...
