I feel the same way.
Quite a buck there, not sure how a guy could pass on it.
Did the OP draw the tag? Did he find someone to do a drop camp? Questions, questions....
Accubond ..........
The partner deal can be tough. It seems like the guys I go with tend to look at different hunts as a one time thing. Hunted deer with the same guy for 25 years but he lost his job.....
Good luck in...
I would look at the new .17wsm like murdy said. I use a .22-250 m70 stealth 2 for the longer stuff but intend to build a 6mm rem AI in the not too distant future. When the wind really gets serious...
I've met very few rifles that I didn't like. The older ones always seem to tug at my heart the most. So few shooters realize how much copper can build up in your bore so quickly, there's other crud...
I don't think you have enough points to draw there.
This is a very slippery slope you're on ......
As far as barrel weight goes it of course depends on the contour you choose. It would be a good use of your time to look up the website long range...
It sounds to me like some research and study should be in order...
When it comes to elk bullets, weight is your friend. Hart makes great barrels as do many, many others. Hauling a rifle with a 30"...
.270/08 - I really like that one. Did you go with 18 or 30 degree shoulder?
I've got a .270 that really shoots and every time I take it to the range or hunt with it I wonder why I've got all that...
The Ruger thing takes 2 minutes....everybody should do it!
The preference point discussion certainly can get out of control at times. Lots of different opinions out there. Between point creep and going back to zero after you do draw it sure can seem futile...
I always enjoy threads like this and look forward to whatever decision you might make. Of course we'll also need to see pictures of the finished project along with some targets. I think we all say...
Yes, I just happen to have a .257AI that I originally built for my daughter on a Rem model 7 action. If I had it to do over I think a 24" barrel may have been better than 22". Recoil is minimal and...
.257 Roberts AI
Sometime in July
It gives me a headache trying to figure all that out......but I can't imagine a fall without an antelope hunt in it. Good luck
I like it. But that's just me. I guess it does leave a few questions unanswered.....but surely there's someone of some importance paying attention to this
Yup, that's the way I understand it too. 3 points, <3, 2 points, <2... Etc.
Why not get a tag for any antelope for your daughter and you buy a left over doe tag...AND...get another point for you....
I think the draw was 98% with one point last year. So the answer is no but that's something you could check very easily.
What he said......
1point for everything here. Just trying to come up with a plan where I can hunt/scout this fall and still get the points.
What we heard out there last fall was from $800 to $2,000. Makes you want to puke.
My experience with this very confusing issue is that it's not really as tough as you initially think. The roads on the BLM maps that have numbers in little rectangles are county. Or that's how it...
