Integral Designs Siltarp2.....14 oz.
Actually both. Provides some UV protection for the tent, while allowing me to store my hunting gear and cook food in late summer thunderstorms that seem to follow me on hunts.
When backpacking in for multiple days (10), I use the lightest, most compressible items I can. Every ounce I save on equipment allows me to pack more food to sustain my entire hunt. The heaviest...
I've tested (and own) all of them.....Sitka, Kuiu, Core4, Russell, Gray Wolf Woolens. In the high-country, I would have to say I'm most pleased with Kuiu. I don't think one can go wrong with either...
Check the prickly pear patches!

One view of Color Country Outfitters website may shed some light for you. Many of those photos are the same bucks.
I scout it (public land) at least every other year........there's some decent...
That's a bit deceiving, though, as most of those Paunsaugunt bucks shown are from the Alton CWMU (Color Country Outfitters). You too can hunt there for a pretty price. :)
Thanks, folks.......it was a great hunt. Forgot to post the best photo of all. My hunting partner's daughter (Erin) with her first javelina. She was pretty darn happy. You notice that Broncos...
I've seen some shed as early as September 1st and some not until the end of September. However, most really begin to shed their velvet around the second week of September.
Exactly what I was fortunate to do this year. After not filling my 2013 tag in January, I ended up arrowing my 2013 deer on December 27th......a 25" wide 3x4 at 45 yards:
Five days later...
Way to go, man! Good looking Golden State bucks.
Well, I've bowhunted them all over the years. I physically scouted the Gunnison Basin units in 2012 and actually set foot in the units..........not just repeated what some others say or reading...
Sure do remember that buck....I officially measured it for P&Y and CBH. There are a lot of similarities, however this year's buck is much wider (around 30" outside). Jerry's buck was fairly narrow,...
Some management bucks (poor genetics):
I took the wife and kids camping over the Thanksgiving weekend up in the Eastern Sierra Mountain Range to photograph some deer on the winter range. Only saw one "good" buck and a lot of management...
That is correct.....you can only kill one deer per calendar year. However, you will be allowed to buy a BP for deer so you can accumulate points even after arrowing a deer in January.
Is he a true Columbian Blacktail (B zone)? If so, awesome buck!
Thanks.....I really enjoy calling predators into bow range. I believe this one makes 25 with a bow.
Called this one in on Monday (Veterans Day) to 20 yards not too far from my desert home.......one arrow later he was mine.
Do you have starting places you're thinking about?
There's absolutely no comparison between the two as far as quality goes. Henry Mountains is one of the best units in North America for mule deer.
Here's another D-14 buck that was just taken.....this is a giant buck for that unit.
A co-workers D-14 buck from this morning.....
