There are still plenty of wolves hammering the elk population up there. Hopefully a few more will get shot this winter.

Nice! Makes me long for spring already.
Congratulations on your trophies. That country looks like perfect mule deer habitat.
Sounds like they are migrating. I see them in the spring like that on occasion, heading back to their summer range. Very cool.
Congratulations. That would be a fantastic hunt.
I agree. A very nice 3 point buck.
Where did it snow? We are supposed to see some late next week. I pray the Salmon region gets some soon.
I am ready. Good luck to all, and post some pics!!
Yes you can, with certain restrictions.
Where u getting your info, Darrin? Island Park, Salmon, Tex Creek, and the Bitterroot units are all hurting. A decade and a half of wolf predation has hammered the herds in those units.
We bought leftover tags there last year and went into the area with only 1 day to scout. That was almost a mistake. There is so much landlocked public land that we nearly didn't find a place to...
Send them to me; I will keep them safe.... Actually, I loaded mine to my hard drive. Search EasyGPS (I think that is correct) for a way to download them to a storage device.
I hunt with a Browning A-Bolt in .300 WinMag, 3-9 Leupold, shooting 180 grain Nosler Partition handloads. I won the rifle for $1.00 in a raffle about 10 years ago, and it has accounted for elk,...
Nice! What area were you hunting?
We went to 25 as well, and were very lucky to find some public land with a few animals. We filled our tags, but access was very difficult. I would not do it again.
Two guys I know filled a tag in Idaho last weekend. Both were black ones, one a 100 pound female.
Nice job! Congratulations.
Thanks for the info, Mike. I am going on my first antelope hunt this fall, so I too have been studying your book and trying to absorb as much as I can before the hunt. Feel free to e-mail me your...
What Schism said. Meat tends to spoil from the bone outward. Some guys put it in garbage bags and submerge it to cool, then hang it up to dry. I would only do this as a very last resort. Getting...
I have picked up several Sitka Gear items for half the retail price (or less) from Camofire. Its random, and I agree that finding the right sizes is tough, but its worth checking out. Very fast...
Should be an outdoor channel on 396 as well.
Bud and Kathy Robison at Downwind Archery east of Idaho Falls have treated me well over the years. They are top notch and are never too busy to lend a helping hand. I have recommended them to many...
No Idaho sheep tag for me -- again!
One of my favorites.
My bull scored 168 and change, this one is bigger. I would put him in the high 170s, maybe a little bigger. Definitely a booner.
