Nevermind, just realized that 30 is part of 21 for the fall bear hunts
I have been eyeing both those units. Can't decide which one to choose yet...
Clearance on Zeiss Conquest as started at camera land ny

Not to promote another website, simply where I found the info...
I also do not apply for MT because of how weird their system is for a non resident. Love the state, just mainly fish and focus big game hunting in other states.
The deer are very low in population. IMHO, the elk hunting is better. Success rates are still fairly low, it is bow hunting on public land.
Lots of public land in the north east corner of Utah. I like to hunt the north slope side out of a small town called Manila, it is alpine mountain country and the elk herd has been getting better...
Thanks, I am new to Colorado, so I am still trying to feel things out before I burn points. Thanks also for another unit to look at, I do appreciate input.
I have enough points for a second season tag, any thoughts on the unit? Is it worth burning points on?
Utah opens mid August for archery deer and elk. Not the best general season hunting, but better than nothing. For elk, try the Uinta mountains. For deer, southern and the middle of the state is...
I have had the same rifle for 19 years, never felt the need to change. Weatherby mark V in a 338 win. I have it set up with a Zeiss rapid z 600. I mainly archery hunt now, but the 338 has never...
What's your thoughts or experiences on these hunts. Since I am a new resident, thinking about trying for a bear tag for the first time.
Watch camera land ny, they have great deals for open box items from the shows this time of year.
For 500 range, don't overlook the zeiss Conquest with the rapid z 600 or 800. That is my personal...
I agree with Umpqua, I have had one le tag in Utah and helped on two-three other ones for friends/family, those tags are worth the wait. Even the medium units where there are mainly 300-340 bulls are...
I am not as negative as Zim on Utah and play the game in several states. If you start now, more than likely it will be a long road to getting a good tag. The thing is, if you don't play the game, you...
Just a reminder, UT is on the clock to get applications in...
Good Luck
Thanks Dave, anytime. I am happy to help. PM sent back Umpqua.
I have to agree with you. When I started applying, I thought points were great. Now years later, don't like them one bit...
Lots of private, if you pay the big money, you will have a good chance at a trophy at a private ranch. If you are DIY and are trying the public land, it would be very tough and you would not be alone...
350 bull on either of those late hunts would be a tall order. A good bull from either unit on a late hunt would be in the 320 range. At least that has been what I have seen and heard. I have hunted...
I am hoping to upgrade to the DNA this year. My last two bows have been pse and I have been very impressed with them.
I can't decide if I should play the waiting game a few more years or throw the points extra points away and just get a tag like unit 21 2nd season...what would u do?
I think, and this is my opinion and results, the the standards fly just a bit better than the magnums. That may be different in other set ups, that is just what I experienced when I tested and...
I have heard good things about the shuttle T, but I have had such good luck with 100 gr standard ST, that I have not wanted to change.
I have been happy with is so far and it is much better priced than some of their competitors
Cameraland NY, always has some great after show open box items. I picked up a Zeiss Conquest 3-9x50 rapid z for 449 last spring. Great scope and a great price.
