NICE JOB Jim,
I second that....I spend a good amount of time in OR gear!!
50 yard confidence, 10 lbs over stalking weight & headed for wyoming for elk...... sounds pretty familiar!!!!!!!
Good luck Timber I'm about 6 days behind you;)
Post lots of pics.
Not sure how short F.L. is getting but a couple of guys who work for me, ordered on Monday, and had the box by Thursday with $5 extra for expedited shipping.
Got all my F.L. earlier. I plan on...
AMEN...... Pelican !!!!!!!!!
Thats a pretty good thought....... pile those bones up on some BLM land and sneak back in a few hours for coyote-fest!!!!!!
I can't tell by the pic but it looks like the hunk of flesh is from the left rear. I think the missing leg is an optical illusion.
Great comment Jim!!!!!
Tick, did he have any stats on further out. Wondering if that difference stayed consistent down range or if it kept getting larger. I could accept 2" @ 100 if it stayed 2" at 300.
Thanks CC, that makes a ton of sense.
I am a recoil whimp but you never notice recoil when shooting at an animal.
I have been planning on acquiring something above .300 but I have dreaded the...
Well the most legal and PC option would be to find the nearest landfill and just pay a few bucks.
My own opinion (depending on the local/fed laws), would be to find a remote location where folks...
I only have one rifle with a brake. It is my favorite.
My Browning .300wsm has a Boss.
It "feels" like it produces less recoil than my .270.
Absolutely - ABSOLUTELY - have to wear protection....
7 days behind you :o:cool::D
Just kill a big one so I can get some pics for the road !!!!!
Hard to say but it doesn't look like they had much experience in Wyoming.
Lots of ID and WA projects but I don't see much for WY.
Having hunted archery elk now for 20 or so seasons, I would say that you had a very successful season!
The fact that one of two, was able to take a cow, coupled with some close encounters, places...
I'm glad I didn't have much at stake here on the Oregon Coast.
I had a archery elk tag but darn near everything was locked down for fire danger.
No worries on my one excursion I stalked a decent...
This year I'm trying something a little different. I have a belt pouch and I'll use it until I'm in close quarters.
I tied a two foot shock cord (small bungee) to each d ring on my neoprene case...
What a bull with traditional gear.
Ironically my wife would have me shoot the one with more meat!
Maybe its the angle but that other bull looks like a pig!
All three are pretty awesome....
Great job, congratulations!
The first archery elk is very special.
Congrats ..... your plan B is just about my goal!
Anything above that would be a nice bonus !!!!!
This really stinks.
Could be a Black Bear but I doubt it.
+ 1 on packing early for Wyoming........ damn dog ate all three pages of my hand written checklist...... I think she knows I'm leaving her for three weeks
Just checked with folks up north, definitely not at the peak yet at the Columbia on the Coast.
I'm at the other end of the state on the coast so take that for what it's worth.
I think we have passed the peak on the Coast.
It seemed like it was a little earlier this season.
Interesting, I'd like to see how much sunscreen was on his face.
This was 50 spf so I'm sure the results would be less with an average spf.
Not sure I want to use bullfrog as cammo but it would...
