Congrats on a nice buck
I've hunted the high country of the Rubys for years and have yet to see one of those
Nice bull! Can't wait to get after em
Merino wool base layers.
Sitka mountain pants are great and come with knee pads in them
I've never had a problem with leaving my truck at the trailhead.
Big bucks will be up high at timberline. Forks and spikes will be mid to low with does
I just got back from camping with family in southern UT. We were camped at about 9000' and the bugs were insane. Bugs were everywhere and my thermacell didn't work so all I could do was spray...
You're up right now and you're getting up at 1:00? Be safe driving. That's awesome, let me know what you find. I'm jealous I want to be in the mountains right now
Hey Andrew, I'll be up in 222 next month for a week scouting for my elk. I'll pm you with pics of any good bucks I see
That's a good one Travis. I must be an old beat up pickup truck😄
Sawyer filter with tabs for backup. Lightweight and effective. When I hunt in freezing temps I wrap the sawyer filter with a clothing item and stuff in pack. Haven't had one crack yet but I don't...
Craig I would like to help you out and see that your successful. Who knows I might need a favor someday if I ever get to hunt Alaska. I helped my buddy two years ago on the same unit and on last day...
Congrats! That is a sweet trophy
I hope all is well TS
Im 43 and had bulging, herniated discs on my L4, L5 and S1 with degenerative facets since I was 23 years old. It was real bad in my twenties but I was a brick mason, lifted alot of weights at the gym...
I'm going to try and hold out for a 330"+ bull but if it comes down to the last day of the hunt I'll shoot a decent 5x
I've seen some big a$$ bulls in 231! That unit was my first choice but I got my second choice in 221-222. That's going to a fun hunt once you get into them. Congrats to your brother in law
I think your lope tag is good for 109 and I always see a bunch of them in that unit driving to the rubies
Jakes valley is the valley south of Ely between unit 221 and 222. I haven't heard of that valley near 101 but I might be wrong
HS I've hunted 101 quite a bit. The problem is private land. The Clover valley on the east side is mostly private land and Starr valley on the west side is the same. I have seen them on the north end...
Sorry to hear that UH. I'm sure you're hunting somewhere this season
Ndow is down right now but you'll find your results on huntnevada.com
I got archery mule deer in the rubies and archery antlered ELK in 221!!!!!
My son drew 221 junior so there is going to be a lot of time spent in 221
UH better get your 777 before they post! Just saying, you don't want bad luck. You can post 778 with your results
