I saw the thread title and thought; hey I know some information about that unit forgetting that I was the OP asking about information.
I did get a nine year old ram near the top of the Toiyabe...
I got the standard timberline with the composite internal stays. The pack is very comfortable and has the capacity to haul more than I would want.
I have no regrets about this pack. The outside...
Congratulations IKC and TS!
That is why they are up there. It is some tough country for sure.
No horses, I was planning on day hiking or overnight back pack hunt to get into that country. Hunt is middle of November to middle...
I was lucky enough to draw a Nelson Sheep tag for 173 and was wondering if anyone would like to share some personal knowledge of the area?
I know they are scattered along the south east side of...
Desert sheep - 173
X2 is my current favorite day pack. I tried some of the Badlands at the store but decided on the X2. I carry a full size tri-pod and 85mm spotter and found the X2 was suited better for my needs.
I got some video this last weekend using the Panasonic camera and Vortex Razor spotting scope.
Here is the link

It was taken about 500 yards out...
Yes it is a good value.
One thing I will add to this thread is to get a camera with a good view finder. The Panasonic has a nice view finder, before I got that camera I was using an older Kodak...
I got myself a pair of 7x36 ED2 a couple of months ago based on the reviews I have read. I have to say the hype is true. I am very satisfied with the wide FOV and optical sharpness of these bins. I...
My advice is to put your time in scouting and have one picked out for opening day. I had the same tag a few years ago and noticed when they were pressured hard and the weather changed they headed...
I got the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FH2 to digiscope with my Razor spotting scope. I am more than impressed with this set up. Amazon.com has good prices for Lumix cameras.
The suspense is killing me. Hopefully results will be posted soon.
Friday for sure? It is going to be a long week of anticipation.
I consider it less mental toughness and more of a love for the outdoors, hunting and solitude. Kinda hard to get scared of the dark and not having a cell phone if you are doing what you love. You...
The above list has everything covered. I would throw in a space blanket and fire starter just in case you don't make it back to your camp.
And maybe spare flashlight and batteries.
Packs are a personal choice and everyone has their favorites. For the type of hunting you described you will need a pack that does three functions:
1. Haul camp
2. Haul hunting Supplies
3. Haul...
Nice trailer! I just bought an X2 from you not to long ago and really like it.
The NDOW website has the same info for residence but you have to dig for it more. I procrastinate with everything else in life except for my tag application so I didn't wait for the new Eastmans to...
No problem or negative affect other than not being able to use the coating for what it was designed for.
I also have a pair of Nikon Monarchs that I got to compare side by side in the desert and...
They suckered me in. Only because I am on my waiting period for Pronghorn and Elk and now I have a ever so small chance of hunting them again. They are costly though.
I don't have the c5 model but I do have a pair of the 8x30 predator pro which has a similar lens coating that I can comment on.
Overall the image is good and game objects do stand out against a...
I am 5'7" and my pack rides the same way. Short legs long torso. The pack feels good for me though as the weight sits on my hips and I have enough adjustment in the shoulder straps to bring it close...
I just recently got the new model X2 and have to say that I like this pack a lot. I have been on a few conditioning hikes with it so far carrying about 30lbs of gear and this pack rides comfortable....
Nice buck. Its good to see younger hunters out there. Some day you will be able to carry the tradition to your children.
