Will be there in 2 weeks for the first rifle hunt in the South West part of the state. In years past they are bugling some. Biggest bull I've ever killed was in this unit opening morning followed...

Couple pics from last week. A Cache Bull on one of my trail cams. He's a dandy.
My app for goat still pending too. Whats up with that?
My points went up too. Now what to do for the month of September?
Sent you a PM
Hobble Creek as well.
What are you riding to scout? 4 wheelr or I'm thinking a mule? Try the Coantag drainage.

Colorado. I like Wyoming my self but can only count on a tag every other year.
Whick Book Cliffs? I drew the Book Cliffs - Roadless for the Spring. Been there past two Springs with family who have drawn. Great, fun hunt.

300 WSM in a Browning A- Bolt. 165 gr Barnes TSSX.
They really reduced the amount of cow tags last year so the odds went up quite a bit. Even tougher for a non- res. They started doing pnts for antlerless 5 (?) years ago so 5 (?) is the max you...
Already been asked but ya which Book Cliffs hunt? Archery? Muzz? Rifle?
Drove through there couple weeks ago, still a ton of Antelope and it is a very mild Winter so far this year. You can get a doe tag without burning points.
They upgraded the Carter unit (94 I...
Unit 93 is big and a lot of tags (people). IMHO 90-2 is better than 90-1. Hunted it 2 years ago and had a great time - lots of good goats (14 - 15" - good prongs). As far as the creeks for fish,...
300 - I live in Hyde Park
If I were to pick between North or South it would be the South side. Course there's a lot of roads and no shortage of ATV's on that side There'a a reason it's a 1 in3...
The North Cache Archery LE Elk tag is the toughest, lowest success tag here in Utah as far as LE goes. I'd reconsider. If your dead set on it. Come in from Franklin Basin, Tony Grove area etc etc....
Lots of elk, and a lot of fun. No shortage of people in these units . Get off the road hunt hard and away from the main trails you will find elk.

GMAN - Great picture!!! That is a neat and unique trophy for sure. Thanks for sharing.
Steve
GMAN would love to see some pics of that bull with the arrow in eye.
Ruttin - don't remember which shoulder it was but he had a broken base (grew straight out to the side rather than up) thus the weird antler. Pic of the odd ball side. This guy had more problems...
2 weeks ago I was able to harvest a really nice bull in Wyoming with my bow. Friday went to get my meat from the butcher and he said he found my broadhead. I told him I found my broadhead after the...
How about a little discussion on the topic of Broadheads - Mechanical vs. Fixed for Elk. I would like to get some thought on this since I've used both and swore I'd never go back to Mechanical for...
What a great hunt regardless of the hot weather for the end of September. Had 8 - 10 different bulls going nuts last Thursday eve in a high meadow and I was able to get in the middle and wait for an...
Anybody else besides me going to take advantage of the long weekend next week and hunt some elk with a bow? Yeah it may be hot and it may be early, but it sure beats working in the yard. Funny, a...
