Opening day in Western Oregon. I was going to hold out for a 4 point but I got excited when I slipped in on this guy in his bed at 20 yards in the timber.

Thanks! I killed my first couple bucks with that gun when I was 12 and 13 but hadn't used it until I had the Scout scope mounted on it this spring. I killed a 400+ pound spring bear with it the day I got it sighted in. I am really happy with it for the environment I hunt here on the coast.

Big Sur: Those are some great looking blackmails. I have hunted them for 30 years in Oregon and bucks like that are very hard to come by. Are you hunting private or public?

Those are a couple of nice Blacktails, BigSurArcher. I will be leaving for Trinity County next week to see if I can find some of their brethren to pop with my short gun.
