    90 percenter

I really enjoyed the article in the last Journal titled 90%er. I truly believe that this rule applies especially as it comes to mule deer. I thought we could have a little fun with this. In the article there were some funny examples of what a 90 %er is or does. So, i know a bunch of you have a great sense of humor so lets start a thread of your own 90 %er list.

Here are a few to start it out

1). Your wardrobe consists entirely of sitka gear, affliction shirts and skinny jeans

2). Your cell phone is full of pictures, of everyone else's kill photos

3). All of your big mule deer mounts are shed mounts

4). You have 352 preference points for mule deer and are waiting for the right year

5). David long is your cousin

6). You stalked to within 1200 yards of your forky buck and slayed him with a Berger bullet from your 5000 dollar rifle

    Lets hear yours,

    Rich

I'll start, I know I'll have more but have to start somewhere.

You go on Facebook and hunting forums and start a rant because you have 5 points for sheep, goat and moose and can't get drawn anywhere.

Check the Mossback site 10x a day to see if they've shot your buck that you might draw in 10 years.

Take offense to your buck getting shot and petition for gov tag dates to be altered so the deer on winter range are not spooked by hunters driving around so the photographers can drive around and not spook the same deer.

Whiten teeth to unhealthy levels for kill photos.

    couldn't pass that one up.

Buy new boots to road hunt.

Watch a few hours of edited kill shots to learn the species.

Taxidermist can't work with the butcher job on the cape.

Wait 10yrs+ to draw a tag and shoot the first deer you lay eyes on that is not even close to being a good representation of what the unit has to offer. (Then complain to other topwater buddies how bad the unit was.)

I was hunting in a unit where only 5 tags were given out for a trophy bull unit for archery. I was lucky and had one of the tags. watched a guy arrow a small rag horn 2 days into the hunt. I was so bewildered by why he even put in for such an amazing tag!

"I don't hunt but all the guys at work hunt so I'll put in for a premium area and draw first time"

I hate these ones most. I'd be willing to take them somewhere and shoot a small buck if they'd just stop putting in for premium hunts

You might be a 90%'er if...

You live vicariously through Bitterroot Bulls.

You have ever quoted IvoryTip in general office talk.

You ration the last small package of steaks from the buck you took a few years ago because you just don't want to end it.

You continue to wear your "lucky" hat, but wonder what it has ever really done for you.

You dont really like to hunt but your husband put you in for a premium tag that you drew out of nowhere and after him and his friends did all the research and work and got you to a monster buck that you missed the first shot at but did hit the next you had them take you back to camp and then they went back to get your deer and after all that you got on a magazine cover and think this is the way its supposed to be.
"Now two flags fly above my land that really sum up how I fee. One is the colors that fly high and proud The red, the white, the blue. The other one's got a rattlesnake With a simple statement made "Don't tread on me" is what it says and I'll take that to my grave. Because this is me. I'm proud to be American and strong in my beliefs. And I've said it before but I'll say it again 'Cause my family's always fought and died to save this land. And a country boy is all I'll ever be."
