    Kowa optics??

How do they compare to others. I just picked up a 662 spotting scope at a great deal. . I've heard a lot of good things about them and figured it was a deal I couldn't turn down.

Your scope is a very good scope in its class and price range. Kowa makes some of the best optics in the world, including the best performing spotting scope on the planet, the Kowa Prominar 883/4.

I have the 663, the angled ED version of yours. It was quite noticeably better than a friend's Swaro STS 65 on a recent hunt when we used them side by side.

Kowa is top of the line optics with Leica, Swarovski and Zeiss. When you get into these optics, its just a matter of personel preference. Its like choosing between Ford, Chevy and Dodge. Congrats on a great spotting scope. fatrooster.

I have the 664 XD and love it. Definately one of, if not the best mid-range scope on the market. Cornell did a test on the best spotting scopes in the world and the 88mm Kowa came in first and the 77mm came in second! (Ahead of the likes of Swaro, Zeiss and Leica) I just wish they would make one with an armor coating for us hunters (their main target market is bird watchers).
I recognized long ago that if I have a warehouse full of guns, but no public land or public wildlife, I have nothing!
