My 5x5 whitetail from 2010

I purposely called him a 5x5 so as not to irritate my western friends here on the site. You know;... When in Rome do as the Romans do. But I do have to make a conscientious effort not to call deer eight pointers or ten pointers, because here in Wisconsin they are referred to as eight and ten pointers.

Yes, same in Missouri. It's funny that it bugs me when they're called 5x5s. It should be a rule that mule deer are 5x5 and whitetail are the total.

That is a good idea MOHunter because I have to agree. I remember the first time my Buddy from Oregon told me about a 4 point he shot and I had to ask him why he shot a dink. When I learned it was in fact 4 points on each side it made more sense. To each his own but this is a dandy buck no matter what you call him. I also saw a lot of deer here in Michigan that were busted up last year. Way more than normal.

That is a great buck! Congratulations! I've always thought it was an unwritten rule mulies and blacktail 4x4, whitetail 8 pointer?
