i have the side winder evo so far this season it seems to work good
Here is one that looks pretty nice on Camofire. Great deal too. Even though the initial offering is over, I've found that you can call or email them and they almost always have leftovers to sell. Just thought I'd throw it out there. Been thinking about getting one also.

I use a leupold LRF. I also use a set of Leupold Binos. I took the nicer neck strap that came with the Binos and put it on the LRF. Its longer too. My LRF case sits nicely on the webbelt of my pack, and I put the neck strap trough the brisket buckle on my pack to secure it if it comes out of the case, as well as for a secure release of it for faster shots when needed.
No extra piece of equipment needed, just used the equipment I already use and made it work very well.
I hunt because........
I just got the g5 "cinch". It seems ok... Kinda bulky, my rangefinder falls out at a fast walk / slow jog. Not sure if I'll use it or not. I really like the idea of having a range finder on a retractable tether, just can't seem to find exactly what I"m looking for.
I don't use an aftermarket tether. I will loop rangefinder lanyard around my backpack shoulder strap and use the case it came with. Maybe a little more cumbersome, but I feel safer with it that way. If i ever get my hands on one of those aftermarket jobs I may change my mind.
I use the exact tether on Camo Fire that Bigsurarcher showed. I then got an Ipod arm band, ran it through the buckle and strap it to my arm, that way when I am getting ready to draw, I can slip it off my arm, hit my range and let the silent tether pull it back out of the way.

great tips and suggestions guys. thanks for the help.
I bought the Nikon one that retracts into the belt clip...
I don't like it, because it makes to much noise......
I have the S4 I'm not crazy about it, lost my rangefinder once when the belt loop lock released as I was crawling. It's kind of bulky and cumbersome. They made a case specifically for my rx-1000, but the openings were in all the wrong places and I had to end up cutting it up to make it work anyways. Paracord and the factory case is what I'm going to use from this point on I beleive.
