Bog Pod

Any of you guys have the bog pod tripod? I know the Eastmans guys love them and am planning on getting one but figured I'd see if anyone else has one. My only concern is that they are kind of bulky and heavy. Probably wouldn't take it on a deep backcountry hunt...

I have one of the original red-legged devils, and it isn't too bulky or heavy at all. I had mine rigged with a manfrotto ball head. It worked OK as a spotter tripod and rifle rest.

Now I pretty much use a slik tripod for optics and a Stoney Point Rapid Pivot bipod for a lightweight rest.

The bog pod is nice for getting up over grass or terrain, especially when antelope hunting.

I love the bog pods! They are kind of bulky and heavy but that's why you bring friends to carry your crap around for you. Haha

Never have had a use for one. Unless I sprain my ankle, I'd rather not carry around a crutch.

I've been using a bog pod and love it. I don't find it bulky or heavy - some of you guys need to work out more You can also buy additional "switcheroos" (Interchangeable heads) for it, making it quick to move from rifle to spotting scope to video camera which is a feature I like. Heading in to the backcountry next weekend and plan to take it with me. Packs small and can be put on the backpack if you wish instead of carrying.

I have been using the Bog Pod for several years now for Texas whitetail and think it is great. I will be taking it to Colorado for the second rifle season and can't wait to use it out there. I also have the extra head for a spotting scope. It is very well made and can be used as a tripod, bipod or monopod.
