Looking for some advice on General Elk hunting for the North Slope of Uintas.

A buddy of mine called me today and wanted some advice on Elk hunting. It is his first hunt and he has a general any bull tag. He mentioned that he would be hunting the North Slope of the Uintas. I have never spent anytime in that area. Does anyone have any suggestions of a good starting point. Not looking for honey holes, just a pointer of a spot to start?

Get a map, find an area away from the trails and roads with water and cover, and you will find elk. I was out there all this weekend, the elk are there.
