This season the bulls were just getting heated up when the Muzzleloader season started. I hunted the Archery which was a little slow but some days had bulls bugling all day. I heard bugling every day, some better than others. There did seem to be a lot of bulls in the area. And there are a lot of areas with pretty good access. I did hear that next year the Forest Service is planning to close off some of the roads or trails(I cannot confirm that though.) So if you are a ATV hunter it may be tougher to get around next season, in some areas. I did really enjoy unit 8.
Any season. My buddy is from there and wants to go hunt. We run all three seasons so whatever has best odds
beav906, you can go to the Arizona Game & Fish's website, azgfd.gov, and see draw odds, success rates, etc. for previous years. They also put out a very nice booklet with all kinds of useful data in it.
Hope that helps.

Rifle has the best drawing odds.
BEAV906. How many bonus points do you have? That will affect your draw odds significantly.
I have 10 points and was considering unit 8 archery for 2012 but I scouted it last March and was not my style. Too urbanized for me. I'll wait for either 27 or 1.
I have 13 points for 2012 and it should be a great archery season. The season runs until September 27. That is the latest closure to the archery season since 2007. Last year in 2011, the archery season only ran until September 22.
