    First Buck

This is my 14 year old son Spencer's first buck. He killed it in Idaho in hunt unit 54. The buck took two shots out of his 300WSM from 514 yards to bring down. The second hit was through the hart and dropped him in his tracks. I'm afraid he's set the bar pretty high, but I may have a dihard deer hunter on my hands now. Needless to say I'm a proud pop!!!

I think that you are in deep trouble dad. Congrats. I can't wait till I can take my daughter on her first hunt. Only nine years to go. Maybe I'll have some money by then. Lol

Thanks everyone. We hunted hard for 10 days and he had passed on quite a few small bucks. I could tell he was starting to get discouraged. Fortunately his mom and I were able keep him going and when the time came he made two great shots (practice paid off). He killed the deer late in the day so I cut it in half and packed out the front with head and horns that night. We hung the back in the trees and returned in the morning to retrieve it. We cut the half in half and he packed his half about two miles back to the truck matching me step for step. I think he earned it and I could see him growing up right in front of my eyes (priceless)...
