What is the lateset on the New Mexico legislation that would limit Non-resident un-guided tags to 2% of the total tags???
Last I heard it was in the finance committee, not much since then. Hopefully someone in the state senate will understand the millions in lost income to the state and put a stop to this.
I hope so! I hope to be able to hunt in New Mexico someday soon! At least before I moved there in 6 years....

the latest today from what i heard was that the bill passed the finance committee. the last i heard, 84% residents, 10% Outfitter Pool, and 6% NR DIY.

the bill passed on the senate floor the other day. now it goes to the house to be voted on. i'm not sure if the bill will make a couple stops in various committees for a vote or not.

This proposal is a huge blow to the public land hunter. We cannot allow this crazy percentage of tags to go to the guides(nothing against guides). I have enjoyed hunting NM in the past and if this change takes place I will not be able to draw tags for the my choice units but maybe once every 5 years, previously every other year was easy. Very dissapointing.
