float hunt for moose

I've been planning a DIY Moose hunt in Alaska last couple years, and also purchased the books and videos you guys spoke about. They have lots of good info. I can't decide if I want to float down a river for a few weeks or land on a lake and hunt the surrounding areas. My buddy has done the latter and has two fine bulls to show for it.

Im planning a trip it is looking like it is going to cost about 1700 for everything once you get to alaska plus food

I'd be interested in the break down of your expenses for the hunt. 1700 seems like it's a super cheap hunt.
