Not that particular rifle but you can't go wrong with the 338.
Savage? Fluted barrel? Accutrigger? Adjustable brake?
Hard to go wrong with that one.
I dont no any thing about the bear hunter. I have two model 16s. My wife shoots the 270wsm. And I shoot a 7mag. Both ate really accurate.
I've also been looking at this for a while. I really like the adjustable break so I don't have to worry about recoil when shooting off the bench and can turn it off when im hunting so I don't blow out my ear drums lol only problem is it only has a 21" barrel with out the brake and im not sure how much that would affect the performance on a round that has alot of powder to burn.
I would personally go with a Weather Warrior. Longer barrel and lighter weight. No brake, but you don't need it for the 338 Winchester.

I looked at one in my local gunshop. I really like the looks of it. I would like to see how it performs with that short barrel. I was looking at the 300 mag version.
The author of," Radical Bear Hunter" is Dick Scorzafava. He told me that Savage wanted a "bear gun" so he had one coming that had all the bells and whistles. This was before the Shot Show. There are two calibers, a 325wsm and the 338. This gun is good for solo spot and stalk plus you can hunt any bear in America with the Savage 116 Bear Hunter.
I wish you could get it in a regular black synthetic stock as well. I hate camo stocks
Your giving up a lot going from a typical 26" barrel to a 21".
