    Region J deer

Hi, I wanted to see if anyone had hunted region J before. I am interested in using it as a second choice while building my points. Not looking for any monster bucks, just a chance at a 140 to 150 class mule deer. Any info would be appreciated you can pm if you want.

I hunted it a little last year with my wife. There is more private land than public. Saw lots of deer but not very many bucks, and even less deer i would shoot. I have been out and about in this area this winter and there are some big bucks but they are almost all on private land. Access to the public land can be hard to come by with lots of people out hunting. There are also whitetails in this region if that makes a difference. Hope this helps.

I am planning on coming out to region J for deer this fall also. My father in law drew an area 7 elk tag and i am going with him to help call/pack and hopefully bring back a deer. We are looking at the southwest corner of converse county in the laramie range. I wandered if anyone had experience hunting deer there. From what I have read, I am not expecting much. Just not sure if the deer will be up in the trees around 7-8k or down low in the sagebrush.
