    New Nv Dream tags

Hunt Big Game in Any Area at Anytime during the Hunting Season!

The Nevada Dream Tags program is an exciting new way to raise money for Nevada wildlife. There are five dream tags that will be awarded in 2012. One for Elk, California Bighorn Sheep, Desert Bighorn Sheep, Antelope and Mule Deer. If you win a dream tag you will have the ability to hunt that species in any area in Nevada at anytime during the regular hunting season (still must follow all other rules for weapon class and seasons for that weapon).

*Similar to Super Tags, Super Raffles, and “Hunt of Lifetime” in other Western States.

First purchase a $10 Resource Enhancement Stamp (RES) to “buy-in” to the raffle. Then you can purchase an unlimited number of raffle tickets for $5 each.

5 species in 2012 – deer, antelope, desert (Nelson) bighorn sheep, California bighorn sheep and elk.*

Designate which species you want on each raffle ticket – you can buy as many as you want for as many species as you want.

Raffle benefits wildlife habitat and money stays in Nevada. An independent, non-profit board grants the money to qualified applicants, and follows up on use results.

The process is online, or at NDOW offices – winners will be notified and names publicized on web.

The more raffle tickets you buy, the better your chances of winning.

People can buy RES and Raffle tickets on behalf of their family members, as gifts, for birthdays, etc.

Anyone can participate (without wildlife violations) – resident or non-resident, regardless of age or waiting periods for regular draw.

Need to be eligible for hunting license to be issued a Dream Tag if they win the raffle.

Winners who have not purchased a hunting license already will receive a complimentary hunting license -the non-profit buys that and the tag for them.

    Waiting periods do not apply.

Return regular draw tag if you win a Dream tag of same species, and get your bonus points and your tag fee back.

Stratified hunt – can hunt anywhere in the state, still must follow all other rules for weapon class and seasons for that weapon.

Those non-hunters can purchase the $10 RES as a way to contribute to wildlife.

Besides, I figure I have about as good of a chance at drawing one of those tags as I do to draw my CA Bighorn tag. Haha

The department will make a lot of money, but most likely it will be all the rich guys getting it. I imagine people will put upwards of $30,000 in. Especially for the Sheep tags.
