    Wy Archery season

hi just asking for some clarification. i am looking to start applying for wy and am somewhat confused on the archery and rifle hunts. if i apply for a general tag (not the archery only) and draw what is the archery season dates. i have noticed in the mrs that many units have different dates for the rifle. my question is if i draw say a unit 81 tag with the rifle opener on the 26th of sept. with that same tag am i able to hunt archery season before the rifle opener? or do i need to apply for a archery only hunt to bow hunt b4 the rifle starts?

    thanks AJ

It depends on the tag... If it's a general tag you should be able to hunt both archery and rifle and it will tell you in the regulations when the archery opener is. It is usually at the bottom the like diagram thing that tells you the area and when rifle opens and the quota and all that. There is a special little section below that, that will tell you when the archery season is. Are you talking about like an antelope tag or ...?

In wyoming you also need to buy an archery tag to be able to hunt the archery season. I think its like $20 and you can use it for all the species you draw.

Like Jen said, go into the hunting regulations and then click on elk seasons. Then look at your unit and it will tell you the season dates. You will also have to look at the end of the unit descriptions/season dates and it will tell you the archery season dates. It won't give you the 2012 seasons though. That info won't come out for awhile which is kind of annoying.
