They were both taken about 5 miles apart, on my grandfathers ranch in Cherry Co. There isn't a lot of goats there but seem to be some nice ones more and more each season. The whitetail population pretty much exploded the last few years, I really don't like to see that cause they seem to be taking over, but if they will get this big I will take it. I grew up hunting mule deer and have only shot a handfull of whitetails. Funny how a guy who hunts mule deer would have a whitetail as his biggest deer.

I hear ya about the whitetails. They are taking over our mulie population on the ranches we hunt. Quite sad. I love chasing mule deer anyday over a whitetail!

thanks, I really don't think there will be a solution for the whitetails either, My dad told me a lot of the whitetails he seen last summer had twins and some triplets, the coyote population is strong but they have mange really bad and I think this cold winter was hard on them. I have purchased many doe only tags and shot only whitetails but they are hard to even get a crack at out in the open country. I remember about 25 years ago when I thought it was kinda cool to see a whitetail cause you never seen them. My thoughts have changed about that. But for now the mulies are hanging in there and have seen some nice ones for next season. A 180 plus is always on the top of my list. They are few and far between in Nebraska.

Thanks, yeah, I got him scored by a Boone and Crockett official measurer. He is 174 1/8 gross and 170 4/8 net. Just enought to make the all time book. I'm still awaiting acceptance by B&C. Same as the goat, he scored 82 4/8, awaiting acceptance with him also. They told me it usually takes several months though, so I gotta just be patient. And yes both animals are going on the wall!
