Has anyone bow hunted these zones and would you use your points to do it again? I was thinking about putting in for one of these hunts and was hoping for some pointers on where to go scouting if I got drawn for them. Thanks!

How many points do you have, that will determine if it's worth while to apply. Both units hold good bucks.
I have 6 points this year.
With 6 points you have very good odds for either better for odds of getting drawn for x3b but to me theres bigger bucks in x5b last year i know of a guy who killed a 30'' 3x3 but its up to you either way theres great bucks in either zone good luck!
In 2010 and 2011 a few applicants with 5 PP drew X5b archery tags, all applicants with 6 or more PP drew a tag. With 6 PP in your pocket all you have to do is choose either unit and you should draw a tag.............you have a good problem![]()
Looks like I need to take some camping trips this summer. Thanks for the info guys.
Both X5b and X3b hold good bucks. Your going to have to work for them though. An archery hunt would probably be best up above the tree line or down in the creek bottoms to escape the summer heat. If your thinking about summer camping trips/scouting trips, Blue Lake east of Likely, is a good place to start. Good luck with it this season if you draw the tag.
Which did you apply for?
Tried to PM you BigSurArcher, but it says your mail box is over the size limit.
