"substantial discount" - I'll say!
I will be taking adoption offers from EF members.

Ive heard of it before didnt think it was that great of a discount! Trying to get residency in this state has been a pain for me and still have yet to get it. Bear season is rolling on with out me!
General Elk - $80
General Deer - $64
Upland Game Bird - $30
Seems like a better deal than I pay now. I guess it would all depend on how much it would cost to become your adoptive sibling, child or parent. That's pretty funny Biterroot Bulls. What's even more funny is that I'll bet somebody really does try that to get a better Montana tag price each year.
I went to high school in Montana, and originally joined the military from there. But get no love from them. As my grand parents sold their ranch then croaked. So we have no family and I wasn't born there.
Kind of a silly system if you ask me.
What is wierder on state laws, is that when I rejoined the military 5 years later, from Alaska. Alaska automatically became my residence state. Nothing I can do about that, as I have been overseas for the majority of my career, and it is my home of record.
If the same thing would have happened in Wyoming, Wyoming would not have let me be adopted by them. I would have been without a state of residence, even though Wyoming was my home of record. As I had not spent 365 consecutive days there.
Residency laws are wierd.
Its a 6 month wait....more or less its just irritating for me. I tried to buy my license online as a resident, said no can do and to call 1800xxx. Did that. Guy said all I needed to do was go to the fwp office here and show them my mt drivers license and show I was a registered voter. He said that the student hunting license I got from them in sept. would show ive been here longer than 6 months and it would be no problem.
Went to the fwp office with all of that and they said no can do. Need more proof that ive been here 6 months such has pay stubs or bills etc. I havent been employed the entire time ive been here so thats a no go and all of the bills are in my brothers names (I live with him) so ive requested my transcripts and am waiting for them. On top of that I have to license my truck in MT. That would be fine I would register it tomorrow and completely understand why that is, but my parents are paying my insurance while im in school and there insurance wont cover my truck if its registered in a different state under there plan (dont ask me why)
So yes its been pain for me, it would be fine for most ordinary people and understand why it is the way it is and I have to live with it. I have no intention of ever moving away from MT, I simply love it here. But thats the way it is.
6 months is a nothing wait. Patience young grasshopper!
Ive been here since august tho! haha oh well we will see how every thing works out with the insurance and what not.
