Eureka Montana? What is it like?

While I am fairly posative I am moving back to Alaska in 20 months, I want to have a few back up locations.

I lived in Deer Lodge when I was going to High School, so I have a pretty good handle on what SW Montana is like. But I haven't spent anytime at all up in NW Montana.

What is it like up there for jobs and just regular life?

Houses appear to be expensive like most of the West. I guess if you had a boat you could hunt elk and deer in Idaho too.

I ask because I just saw where two of my favorite towns growing up Pinedale, Wyoming and Deer Lodge, Montana both have huge crystal meth problems. Actually a lot of Wyoming has crystal meth problems.

Knowing that no place on earth is truly perfect, it is very hard when you have lived all over the planet to figure out where to live when your retire.

If money was no object I'd have a 15000 acre hunting lease in the Austrian alps. Since it is, we will be happy to find out own slice of some kind of hunting heaven.

Wyoming is perfect. Just don't live in Casper... or Gillette... or Rock Springs.

Eureka is a small town. But I like it. Lots and lots of deer, some turkeys and fair number of elk. Kind of a mix of thick timber up high and more open pondarosa and river bottom country down low. Looks alot like deer lodge to tell the truth. Towns pretty much a single strip. BC is 5 miles out of town.
