Had something like that happen here in Utah a few years ago. The elk had a spot that they would cross through all the time in Provo Canyon. When the state redid the road they cut the bottom road out like 30 feet. When the elk came running off the hill, and if I remember right they were spooked by someone taking pictures of them, they all ran off the cliff and landed on the highway below.
