    Spring Bear Jicarilla

First day success on grandsons first bear. We hunted with hounds in the morning and even though the dogs found and ran a bear or two, the bear went into terrian that prevented us from following. Friday afternoon we built a ground blind and used bait. The smoke from the Gila came in just at hunting time and we thought our hunt was ruined. We walked to the blind late in the evening and about twenty minutes later a bear came. The bear dropped from one shot of 168gr Berger from the Browning 7mm fired 150 yards away. Shot placement was perfect.

Yes Jay it was reservation and cost a lot, too much, but it was an awesome adventure. Grandson had never fired that gun before and he was perfect. The whole experience was story book perfect.
