Colorado sucks for elk hunting! Go to another state. How about Nevada?

Its kinda late in the year to start thinking about next year because most state's application dates have come and gone; missing a chance to buy a points. You can buy a preference point in wyoming starting in july. some states have opportunities for zero preference units but there is a reason why these tags are available. You certainly will have more chance with archery than muzzleloader or rifle. Just have to do some homework. You can start here: http://www.hunterstrailhead.com/inde...&XID=1:0:0:0:0 to determine units that you can draw. good luck.
