    Question Favorite socks

A recent thread about hot weather clothing got me thinking about socks. I loaded up the pack and tried out a pair of Elder Merino Wool performance socks yesterday, they seemed to do pretty good on a short (3 mile) up and down hike.

What are you long walkers wearing?

for me the best combo I have found for my feet are the BPS blue polypropylene liners with the BPS day hiker wool socks.

I have tried a few other liners and other wool socks, but for some reason these ones just seem to fit well and do what they are suppose to on my feet.

I just started wearing merino wool socks, and they seem to be a lot better than anything I have wore before.

I use Lorpen socks for backpacking. The ones I have are 75% Merino Wool, 15% Nylon, 10% Lycra.

I wear the Smartwool light hikers, I believe they are 76% merino wool. They are the most comfortable socks I think I've ever worn.

Smartwool for me as well. Best socks ever, especially when your out for 5-7 days. They literally ward off the stink. I tried liners under these once and got blisters from the liners. Now just wear the Smartwool and have never had blister problems since. Also own Smartwool dress socks and running socks and love them all. I prefer them over any other sock I have ever owned.
